The floral clock

1951

The floral clock
Foto: Unknown via Wikimedia Commons (Public domain)

The floral clock stands in the Leopoldpark, a good four hundred metres back from the seafront. This 1951 photo still shows it where it was laid out in 1933; in 1963 it moved to the slope on the north east side of the park, because the extended Avenue Leopold II had boxed it in between two lanes of traffic. The nine metre clock face is replanted every year.

Stand like this

Stand at the bottom of the slope, directly in front of the clock face, with the trees of the Leopoldpark behind the clock.
